Western New England College women's volleyball splits a pair of TCCC matches

BEVERLY, Mass. - The Western New England College women's volleyball team split a pair of The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) matches defeating Wentworth 3-0 before falling to host Endicott 3-1 on Saturday (Oct. 2).

The Golden Bears prevailed over Wentworth by the scores of 25-14, 25-23, and 25-23.

Senior outside hitter Samantha Shomo (Glen Gardner, NJ) had 12 kills and seven digs, while senior setter Katharina Boes (Buffalo Grove, IL) recorded 30 assists and 10 digs.

Senior libero Marci Egbert (Wayne, NJ) had 14 digs.

In the second match of the day, the Golden Bears fell to host Endicott by the scores of 25-17, 16-25, 25-18, and 25-22.

Shomo again led Western New England College with 12 kills and 10 digs followed by Boes (33 assists), and Egbert (20 digs).

Freshman outside hitter Maureen Pollet (Dix Hills, NY) chipped in with 11 kills.

Western New England College now stands at 8-10 (4-1 TCCC), Endicott defeated Wentworth to improve to 13-6 (5-1 TCCC), while the Leopards fall to 4-12 (1-3 TCCC).

The Golden Bears return home to face Amherst at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday (Oct. 6).
