Emily McGran Earns CCC Volleyball Co-Rookie of the Week Award
SPRINGFIELD, Mass.--Emily McGran of the Western New England University women's volleyball team is the co-rookie of the week, the Commonwealth Coast Conference announced on Monday. This marks the first weekly award of her career.
The freshman outside hitter from Lakewood, Ill. (Huntley High School), excelled during WNE's historic 3-1 win at Roger Williams by spiking 11 kills, earning seven digs and hitting .458 when the Golden Bears did just .159 as a team. Three-time defending CCC champion RWU lost its first conference match in three seasons and had its 29-match home winning streak snapped.
This season, McGran is contributing 2.00 kills per set while attacking at a .179 clip.
