Max Beal Returns to Western New England as Offensive Coordinator

Beal served as offensive line coach for Golden Bears from 2014-15

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (June 27, 2018) –
Western New England University head football coach Jason Lebeau announced on Wednesday that Max Beal will return to the Golden Bears as the program's offensive coordinator.

Beal will be primarily responsible for coaching the offensive line in addition to recruiting duties.

Beal spent the 2017-18 academic year as offensive line coach and recruiting coordinator at Hamline University in Saint Paul, Minnesota. He was in charge of daily preparation of the offensive line unit, scouting weekly opponents and assisting with the offensive game plan, managing the recruiting plan for the entire staff, and coordinating the field goal and extra point teams.

Prior to his time with the Pipers, Beal served as an assistant coach at Tufts University in Medford, Mass. Working primarily with the running backs, Beal coached a unit that averaged 239.3 yards per game (22nd in DIII) as the Jumbos went 7-1 and finished second in the NESCAC.

His first coaching position after college came at Western New England, where Beal broke into the profession as an offensive line coach on Keith Emery's staff from 2014-15. During Beal's second year at Western New England, the Golden Bears posted their first undefeated regular season in program history in 2015.

A native of Hingham, Mass., Beal earned his bachelor of arts degree in history with a minor in communications from Allegheny (Pa.) College in 2014. He played four years at center for the Gators' football team, serving as team captain his senior season.
