Windham, N.H. native earns special teams selection

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (December 4, 2018) – Senior linebacker Kurtis Joliceour (Windham, N.H.) of the Western New England University football team has been named to the D3football.com All-East Region second team as a special teams selection, the organization announced on Tuesday.  

Jolicoeur finished the 2018 campaign tied for 11th in the nation with three blocked kicks. His first block came on an extra point attempt in the second quarter of Western New England's 31-23 victory over Westfield State on September 8.

Later in the season, Jolicoeur blocked a punt that was returned for a touchdown by Bailey Devine-Scott in the first quarter of the Golden Bears' 41-38 loss to Endicott College on November 3. The senior also blocked a punt in the second quarter of the contest.

Jolicoeur, an All-Commonwealth Coast Football first team selection, totaled 62 tackles this season, including a team-leading 15 tackles for loss. He also recorded two sacks, two forced fumbles, one interception and one pass breakup.

Jolicoeur is the eighth Golden Bear to earn All-East Region honors from D3football.com. He joins Nick Connell (2016), Kevin Cook (2014), Connor DeVarney (2015), Sam Edouard (2016, 2017), Obi Etuka (2015, 2016), Dillon Martin (2016) and Kenneth Vollaro (2015).
