Kurtis Jolicoeur Named CCC Football Special Teams Player of the Week

Windham, N.H. native blocked two punts and recorded ten tackles against Endicott

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (November 5, 2018) – Senior linebacker Kurtis Jolicoeur (Windham, N.H.) of the Western New England University football team has earned his first career Commonwealth Coast Football (CCC Football) Special Teams Player of the Week award, the league office announced on Sunday.

Jolicoeur blocked two punts in Western New England's 41-38 loss to Endicott College on Saturday at Hempstead Stadium in Beverly, Mass. He also recorded a team-leading ten tackles, including four for a loss of seven yards, and a forced fumble.

Jolicoeur's first blocked punt with 4:17 remaining in the first quarter was returned 18 yards for a touchdown by Bailey Devine-Scott as the Golden Bears opened up an early 17-0 lead. Jolicoeur partially blocked another punt late in the second quarter, setting up the Western New England offense with the ball at midfield.

Through nine games this season, Jolicoeur leads the CCC with three blocked kicks. He has also recorded 48 total tackles (31 solo), including 12 for a loss of 41 yards, two sacks, two forced fumbles and a pass breakup.

Western New England (7-2, 4-1 CCC Football) wraps up its regular season at home next Saturday (11/10) against Becker College at 1 p.m.
