Host Endicott breaks away in the second half for a 7-2 victory over Western New England

- Host Endicott exploded for five second-half goals to defeat Western New England 7-2 in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) field hockey game Wednesday night (Sept. 30).

Ashleigh Allen had three goals for the Gulls who are now 6-5 overall and 4-1 in the CCC.

EC took an early 2-0 lead on goals by Morgan Bresnahan and Allen in the opening 22 minutes.

Western New England (4-4, 1-3 CCC) came back to tie the contest when Michelle Carlson scored at the 25:09 mark with an assist from Emily Antinozzi. Carlson then scored again at 33:31 with an assist from Brittany DeLima.

Allen and Melanie Kaleta tallied goals in the first 10 minutes of the second half for a 4-2 advantage and the Golden Bears couldn't catch up.

Grace Trupe started for Western New England and made eight saves in 58 minutes, 20 seconds before Dominique Corveddu came in and stopped three shots in the final 11:40.

Rose Bradley finished with five saves for Endicott.
