SPRINGFIELD, MA - Salve Regina ran its winning streak to six games with a 5-0 victory over Western New England Tuesday (Oct. 6) in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) field hockey game.
Erin Gendreau and Abigail Tepper each scored two goals for the Seahawks who raised their record to 9-2 overall and 5-1 in the conference.
Marissa Gagnon added a goal and two assists while Amber Cody and Sarah Thompson each contributed an assist.
Salve Regina scored two goals in the opening 12:36 before the Golden Bears settled down and held the visitors scoreless for the rest of the half.
The Seahawks put the game away by scoring three times in a 4:15 span early in the second half.
Jessie Severino compiled three saves for Salve Regina while Grace Trupe finished with 10 saves for Western New England.
