Western New England returns home to host Nichols on Saturday

WENHAM, Mass. (September 13, 2017) – The Western New England University women's tennis team was dealt a 9-0 setback at Gordon College on Wednesday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at the Brigham Athletic Complex.  

Match Review
• In singles competition, Justine Hanson defeated freshman Maylene LaPress (Bedford, N.H.) 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1, Katherine Jeffreys posted a 6-1, 7-5 result over Morgan Schrader (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) at No. 2, Kaelyn Hall defeated senior Christina D'Agostino (Bohemia, N.Y.) 7-6, 6-3 at No. 3, Maddie Berry earned a 6-2, 6-0 win over  sophomore Rachel Bauer (Palmer, Mass.) at No. 4, Caitlin Kwok defeated junior Petra Martinelli (Vernon, Conn.) 6-2, 6-1 at No. 5, and Emily Ontiveros topped freshman Jessica Cote (Groton, Conn.) 6-2, 6-2 at No. 6.
• In doubles play, Hall/Berry defeated Schrader/D'Agostino 8-2 at the No. 1, Hanson/Jeffreys topped LaPress/Martinelli 8-2 at the No. 2, and Kwok/Ontiveros posted an 8-3 win over Bauer/Phu 8-3 at No. 3.
