Golden Bears improve to 3-4 in CCC play

WESTON, Mass. (October 1, 2017) –
The Western New England University women's tennis team earned a 6-3 victory over the Wentworth Institute of Technology on Sunday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at Regis College.

Top Performers
• Sophomores Morgan Schrader (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) and Rachel Bauer (Palmer, Mass.) and senior Christina D'Agostino (Bohemia, N.Y.) all picked up wins in both singles and doubles play for the Golden Bears.

Match Review
• Western New England led 2-1 after doubles play, as Schrader and D'Agostino teamed up for an 8-6 win over Ali Sollecito and Ellen Butts at No. 1, and the No. 3 duo of Bauer and senior Kim Phu (Wolfeboro, N.H.) posted an 8-3 triumph over Sam McGibbon and Mackenzie Jones.
• Schrader and D'Agostino picked up wins at No. 2 and No. 3 singles, respectively.
• Bauer defeated Butts, 6-1, 6-3 at No. 4.
• Junior Petra Martinelli (Vernon, Conn.) rolled to a 6-2, 6-2 win over Jasmine Andrade at No. 5.
