D’Agostino Named CCC Senior Scholar-Athlete, Schrader Earns All-CCC Third Team Honors

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (October 10, 2017) – Senior Christina D'Agostino (Bohemia, N.Y.) and sophomore Morgan Schrader (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) of the Western New England University women's tennis team were both recognized when the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) announced its major award winners and All-Conference teams on Tuesday afternoon. 

D'Agostino was selected as the CCC Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year, while Schrader earned All-CCC third team honors for singles.

A Health Sciences major with a 3.80 cumulative grade point average, D'Agostino has made an impact both on and off the court during her time at Western New England. She has been named to both the Dean's List and President's List on multiple occasions, and currently holds an internship on campus with the Health Services office. Additionally, D'Agostino is a member of Western New England's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. 

On the court, the Bohemia, N.Y. native posted a 4-6 record (3-5 CCC) at the No. 3 singles flight. D'Agostino and Schrader also teamed up as Western New England's No. 1 doubles duo, going 4-6 (3-5 CCC) at the top flight.

Schrader earns All-CCC honors for the first time in her career with her selection to the third team. She went 7-3 (5-3 CCC) at No. 2 singles with wins over All-CCC first team selection Gretta Hartman of Endicott College on September 27 and All-CCC second team honoree Megan Nathanson of Nichols College on September 16.

Sixth-seeded Western New England (4-6, 3-5 CCC) opens the CCC Tournament at third-seeded Roger Williams University tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
