Western New England Drops 6-3 Decision to Elmhurst

ORLANDO, Fla. (March 21, 2018) – The Western New England University women's tennis team dropped a 6-3 decision to Elmhurst (Ill.) College on Wednesday evening at the USTA National Campus.

Junior Petra Martinelli (Vernon, Conn.) was involved in two of the Golden Bears three wins in the match, as she teamed up with freshman Kyra Palumbo (Albany, N.Y.) to earn a 9-8 (7-2) result over Dacey Maglaque and Meg Simon at No. 3 doubles, before registering a 6-4, 6-1 triumph against Maglaque at No. 5 singles.

Sophomore Morgan Schrader (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) was also victorious with her 6-1, 6-1 win over Ysabel Gonzaga at No. 2 singles.
