Western New England College posts non-conference victory over Framingham State

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. - Junior outside hitter Rachel Cervone (West Springfield, MA) had 13 kills and nine digs to lead the Western New England College women's volleyball team to a 3-1 victory over host Framingham State in a non-conference match Thursday night (Oct. 16).

The Golden Bears (11-13) captured the first game 25-23 before the Rams evened the match with a 25-19 decision in game two.

WNEC pulled away for its third consecutive victory by taking the next pair of games by the scores of 25-18 and 25-11.

Sophomore setter Katharine Boes (Buffalo Grove, IL) added 21 assists and four blocks while sophomore middle blocker Lauren Landri (New Canaan, CT) also blocked four shots and had nine kills.

Framingham State sophomore hitter Ashley Trudeau (Rockland, MA) finished with 13 kills, 10 digs, and four service aces. The Rams fall to 9-12.
