WNEC's Rachel Cervone and Katharina Boes selected to All-Conference Team

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Western New England College junior Rachel Cervone (West Springfield, MA) and sophomore Katharina Boes (Buffalo Grove, IL) were named to The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) Women’s Volleyball All-Star Team Monday evening (Nov. 3).

Cervone, an outside hitter, made the All-TCCC First Team after leading the Golden Bears in kills (300) and digs (408). She also was second in service aces (49). Cervone led the conference in kills (139) and was second in digs (160). She is a Management Studies major.

Boes, a setter and team co-captain, was a Second Team selection after compiling a team best 735 assists. She was third in service aces (43) and fourth in digs (256). A Sport Management major, Boes also was third in the league in assists (277) and fourth in service aces (22). Last year she received an honorable mention on the All-Conference squad.

Western New England College posted a 16-16 record during the regular season and placed sixth in the conference with a 5-5 mark.

The Golden Bears will visit the University of New England at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday (Nov. 4) in a quarterfinal round match of the league tournament.
