Western New England College ties school record for wins with shutout victory over Eastern Nazarene

QUINCY, Mass. - The Western New England College women's volleyball team returned to action for the first time in eight days and posted a 3-0 victory over Eastern Nazarene Wednesday night (Oct. 28). The game scores were 25-12, 25-11, and 25-10.

The Golden Bears (22-8) tied the school record for wins in a season set two years ago and improved their record to 7-1 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC).

Senior outside hitter Rachel Cervone (West Springfield, MA) led the attack with nine kills, 16 digs, and four service aces.

Freshman outside hitter Jennifer Mears (Amherst, MA) contributed seven kills and a pair of blocks.

Junior middle blocker Lauren Landi (New Canaan, CT) added six kills, three digs, and two blocks.

Freshman setter Heather Mears (Amherst, MA) chipped-in with a season high eight assists.

Junior middle blocker Amber Burns (Fall River, MA) led the Lions with five kills.
