How it Happened:
The Pioneers opened the top of the first inning with the game's first run, giving themselves the early lead on a sacrifice flyout. Henry Schowerer would single to center field to score to Golden Bears, giving WNE their first lead of the game.

The top half of the third inning would give William Paterson their second run of the game, to tie the score at two. Steve Yelin would single to left center field to collect an RBI for the Pioneers. As they did to start the game, the Golden Bears wasted very little time to retake the lead, this time for good.  In the bottom of the fifth, EJ Dudley would send a ground rule double to right field, which would score Schowerer and place Vincent Caccavale on third base with nobody out. Paul Villecco would single up the middle to score both Dudley and Caccavale, giving WNE a 5-2 lead. CJ Willis would add to the lead for WNE, doubling to center field to score Villecco sending the Golden Bears to a four run, five hit fifth inning, taking a 6-2 lead.

Joe Webber would fly out on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 6th inning to give Western New England a 7-2 lead. Starting pitcher for the Golden Bears, Jacob Hobart went the first seven innings, giving up just six hits and three runs (two earned) while walking just one and striking out three.

The Golden Bears made the Pioneers pay for errors in the eighth inning, scoring three runs on no hits. Western New England would shut down the Pioneers in the final frame, at William Paterson was set down one, two, three, as Brandon Kohl came in relief, finishing the final two innings of the contest, giving up just two hits and one unearned run while striking out four Pioneers to close the door and send Western New England to their fifth win of the season.
