Willis Adds D3Baseball.com and ABCA Awards

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (June 3, 2022) – Western New England standout baseball player CJ Willis added three more awards this week, including two from d3baseball.com as well as an award from the American Baseball Coaches Association, marking five postseason awards this season. 

After picking up eight CCC Rookie of the Week accolades, Willis was named CCC Rookie of the Year after slashing .398 on the season, collecting 171 at-bats, scoring 43 runs, 68 hits, 11 doubles, three triples, and a single season program record with 14 home runs this season. Willis also collected 48 RBIs, a team best while stealing 11 bases. Willis was also named to the All-CCC second team. 

Following the end of the season, Willis was awarded with D3baseball.com All-Region Rookie of the Year as well as D3baseball.com's All-Region Second Team as a utility. Just days later, the first year picked up another accolade to his impressive season, being named to the ABCA Region 2 All-Region First Team.  

In total, Willis came around with five postseason awards on top of his impressive 14 home runs, which is a new single season program record for Western New England baseball.
