Johnstone, Peterson, Sheinhait and Boucher post individual event wins for Western New England

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (November 9, 2016) – The Western New England University women's swimming team fell to Westfield State University, 122-109, in dual meet action this evening at the Alumni Healthful Living Center Pool.

Top Performers
• Junior Erika Sheinhait (Framingham, Mass.) accounted for one of Western New England's four event wins with her first place finish in the 50-yard butterfly, as she met the New England Championship A cut standard with her time of 29.85 seconds.
• Junior Jacquelyn Peterson (Beverly, Mass.) won the 500 freestyle (6:10.77), while also posting a B cut effort in the 50 freestyle and improving on her time from earlier in the season by three seconds (28.60 seconds).
• Junior Janelle Lief (San Jose, Calif.) recorded her fastest time of the season in the 50 butterfly (30.89 seconds), finishing second to Sheinhait and earning an A cut as well. Lief also dropped four seconds off her best time of the season in the 100 backstroke, clocking in at 1:20.62.

Westfield State won nine of the 14 events, led by senior Anna Boucher (Suffield, Conn.) and sophomore Shannon Fitzsimmons (Andover, Mass.), who claimed three each.
