Golden Bears Finish Fourth at Colby-Sawyer Invitational

Peterson posts third place finish in 200-butterfly, seventh in 500-freestyle

NEW LONDON, N.H. (December 3, 2016) – The Western New England University women's swimming team posted a fourth-place finish earlier today at the Colby-Sawyer Invitational, hosted by Colby-Sawyer College at the Knight Natatorium.

Western New England swam to fourth place with a total of 185 points. The University of New England finished first with 502.5 points, while Bridgewater State (285) and Colby-Sawyer (257) rounded out the top three.

Top Performers
• Junior Erika Sheinhait (Framingham, Mass.) finished sixth in the 200-yard freestyle (2:11.96) and ninth in the 100-freestyle (1:00.00).
• Freshman Emily Elliott (Cortland, N.Y.) posted a fifth-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:51.00) and a seventh-place performance in the 100-breastroke (1:18.41).
• Junior Jacquelyn Peterson (Beverly, Mass.) led three Western New England entries in the 200-yard butterfly, finishing third in 2:43.65. Peterson was also the Golden Bears' top performer in the 500-yard freestyle, as she placed seventh in 6:04.53.
