Men’s Ice Hockey Falls at Albertus Magnus

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (January 7, 2020) – The Western New England University men's ice hockey team fell at Albertus Magnus, 4-2, in non-conference action on Tuesday evening at the Ralph Walker Skating Rink.

Top Performers
The Falcons had four different goal scorers. Freshmen Robert Eichelberger (Odessa, Fla.), Jack Hannan (Kent, Conn.), Matthew Capisciolto (Russell, Ontario), and Cameron Weitzman (Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Quebec) each scored one goal. Freshman Adam Scholz (Waterdown, Ontario) provided two assists.

Juniors Ryan Price (Brick, N.J.) and Anthony Frati (Churchville, N.Y.) each scored for the Golden Bears.

Game Review
After a scoreless first period, Albertus Magnus took the lead at 5:58 in the second period from a goal by Eichelberger. Western New England answered at 11:29 when Price scored a goal assisted by freshman Conor Leach (Latham, N.Y.) and junior Mitch Morin (Chicopee, Mass.).

The Falcons took the lead at 18:30 in the second period off a goal by Hannon, with Scholz providing the assist. Albertus Magnus extended their lead a minute later when Capisciolto scored a goal assisted by freshman Jon Olson (Merrick, N.Y.) and Scholz.

Late in the third period, the Golden Bears cut the lead to one when Frati scored a goal at the 16:57 mark, with freshman John D'Aniello (Toms River, N.J.) and sophomore Damien Dangueuger (Paris, France) providing the assists. With the Golden Bears searching for the equalizer, Weitzman scored an unassisted empty net goal to secure a 4-2 win for the Falcons.

Notes
• Albertus Magnus held a 38-31 shot advantage.
• Senior goaltender Kyle Carducci (Rocky Hill, Conn.) had 34 saves.
