WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (February 20, 2020) – The Western New England University men's ice hockey team fell in their final home game of the year to Nichols, 5-2, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action on Thursday evening at the Olympia Ice Center.
Top Performers
Senior Hogan Davidson (Duluth, Minn.) led the Bison with two goals, while sophomore Justin Perron (Thetford Mines, Quebec), senior Vincent Crivello (Rosemere, Quebec), and junior Evan Nyhus (Dove Canyon, Calif.) each scored for Nichols.
Junior Nolan Zweep (Abbotsford, B.C.) scored two goals for the Golden Bears, while seniors Corey Kennedy (Clemmons, N.C.) and Dom Blad (Springfield, Mass.) each provided two assists.
Game Review
The Bison opened the scoring with just under six minutes remaining in the first period when Perron grabbed his 11th goal of the season.
Nichols extended their lead in the second period when Crivello scored at the 6:22 mark. The Bison pushed the lead to three goals after Davidson scored his first of the night on a power play. The Golden Bears answered, with Zweep scoring two goals in the second period to cut the Bison lead down to one.
The Bison added two more goals in the third period during a two-minute span in which Nyhus, the first of his career, and Davidson both scored.

• Senior goaltender Kyle Carducci (Rocky Hill, Conn.) made 41 saves for the Golden Bears.
