Men’s Ice Hockey Falls to Salve Regina in Regular Season Finale

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (February 23, 2020) – The Western New England University men's ice hockey team fell to Salve Regina, 6-0, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action in their regular season finale at the Portsmouth Abbey Ice Rink.

Top Performers
Freshman Cayden Kraus (East St. Paul, Manitoba) scored two goals and provided one assist for the Seahawks. Junior Danny Eruzione (Winthrop, Mass.) scored two goals and provided two assists, while freshman Vincent Marino (Waterford, Mich.) scored one goal and provided two assists.

Senior goaltender Kyle Carducci (Rocky Hill, Conn.) made 45 saves in net for the Golden Bears.

Game Review
Salve Regina got on the board with just under five minutes remaining in the period as Kraus grabbed his first of the night. Kraus scored a short-handed goal, his second goal of the night, shortly into the second period. Junior Danny Philbrick (Rye, N.H.) scored with under a minute remaining in the second period to put the Seahawks up 3-0.

Salve Regina added to their lead in the third period as Marino grabbed his goal shortly into the period. Eruzione scored an unassisted short-handed goal midway through the period, and grabbed his second of the night with under a minute remaining in the game.
