University of New England Surges Past Men’s Ice Hockey

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (February 15, 2020) – The Western New England University men's ice hockey was defeated by University of New England, 6-2, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action on Saturday evening at the Harold Alfond Forum.

Top Performers
Junior Tyler Seltenreich (Littleton, Colo.) and freshman Jake Fuss (Fairfield, Conn.) each scored two goals for the Nor'easters.

Senior Dom Blad (Springfield, Mass.) and junior Nolan Zweep (Abbotsford, B.C.) grabbed the goals for the Golden Bears.

Game Review
The Nor'easters opened the scoring early, when Fuss and junior Jeff Eppright (Barrington, N.J.) each scored within the first three minutes of the first period.

Senior Ryan Burr (Toms River, N.J.) extended the University of New England lead shortly into the second period. Blad answered for the Golden Bears, grabbing an unassisted goal with under five minutes left to play in the period. Seltenreich responded just 0:30 later to put the Nor'easters back up by 3.

Zweep scored for the Golden Bears under a minute into the third period, with senior Corey Kennedy (Clemmons, N.C.) providing the assist. Seltenreich and Fuss added to the University of New England lead midway through the final period.

Notes
• University of New England held a 51-16 shot advantage.
Colten Lancaster (Kelowna, B.C.) had 45 saves for the Golden Bears.
