SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (January 19, 2019) – The Western New England University wrestling team is seeded seventh in the 13-team field heading into Sunday's New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) Dual Meet Championship, hosted by Johnson & Wales University at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence, R.I.
The Golden Bears will open the tournament against No. 10 seed Bridgewater State at 9:30 a.m., with the winner advancing to face No. 2 seed Coast Guard in round two at 11:45 a.m. Every participating team is guaranteed four matches on Sunday.
Western New England owns a 3-3 dual meet record against NEWA competition this season, which includes a 26-19 road victory over first round opponent Bridgewater State on January 9.
