Men’s Soccer Wraps up Regular Season with 3-0 Win over Curry

MILTON, Mass. – The Western New England University men's soccer team wrapped up its regular season slate with a 3-0 victory over Curry College on Tuesday night in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at Katz Field.

Top Performers
Freshman forward Bryan Atimbo (Chicopee, Mass.) led the Western New England offense with a goal and an assist. Junior Matt Remillard (Palmer, Mass.) and senior Charlie Argyle (Plymouth, Mass.) also scored for the Golden Bears.

Senior goalkeeper Dylan Husted (South Deerfield, Mass.) registered a two-save shutout, his sixth clean sheet of the season.

Game Review
Western New England opened the scoring 14 minutes into the contest on a set piece. Senior defender Bryan Doyle (Southington, Conn.) sent a free kick into the box from 35 yards out, and Remillard collected the ball before burying a shot into the back of the net.

The Golden Bears added to their lead at the 62:18 mark, as Argyle scored on a feed from Atimbo. Six minutes later, Atimbo tallied an unassisted goal to make it 3-0, which stood as the final score in the contest.

• Western New England outshot Curry 29-7 and held a 7-5 edge in corner kicks.
• Argyle finished the regular season with a team-high seven goals and 19 points.

Western New England (12-5-2, 4-3-1 CCC) which finished fourth in the CCC standings, will host fifth-seeded Nichols on Saturday at Suprenant Field. Curry's season comes to a close at 2-15-1 (0-8 CCC).
