Western New England Places 14th at NEWA Duals
Donovan named to All-Tournament Team
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (January 22, 2017) – The Western New England University wrestling team turned in a 14th place finish earlier today at the New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) Dual Meet Championships, hosted by Johnson & Wales University at the Wildcat Center.
The Golden Bears, who entered the day seeded 14th in the tournament, fell to Williams College (48-0) and Plymouth State (22-19) before defeating New England College (48-10). Western New England capped its day with a 22-15 loss to Trinity.
Top Performers
• Senior captain Brian Donovan (Manchester, Conn.) was named to the All-Tournament Team at 197 pounds after going 3-1 on the day.
• Freshman Davey Goodall (Chelmsford, Mass.) also posted a 3-1 record at 165 pounds.
