Davey Goodall Named to NEWA All-Rookie Team, Eight Golden Bears Earn All-Academic Honors

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (March 27, 2017) – Freshman Davey Goodall (Chelmsford, Mass.) of the Western New England University wrestling team has been named to the New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) All-Rookie Team, it was announced this morning. Additionally, eight Golden Bears earned NEWA All-Academic honors for their efforts in the classroom.

Goodall went 15-12 at 165 pounds during his first season at Western New England. His successful freshman campaign featured a 7-4 decision over fellow All-Rookie Team selection Chase Lind of WPI on January 11, and a key 3-1 decision over Trinity College sophomore Nolan Cornu in the Golden Bears' 21-18 victory over the Bantams on February 5.

Western New England placed eight student-athletes on the NEWA All-Academic Team for posting a grade point average of 3.30 or higher, including:
