Golden Bears Roll to 56-0 Triumph at Plymouth State

Western New England finishes dual meet schedule with 9-7 record

PLYMOUTH, N.H. (February 10, 2018) –
The Western New England University wrestling team rolled to a 56-0 triumph over Plymouth State University on Saturday afternoon in the Golden Bears' dual meet finale at the Bank of New Hampshire Field House. 

Freshman Nick Arborio (Berlin, Conn.) set the tone for the match with his 18-3 technical fall victory over Mike Titus in the 125-pound bout.

After senior Tim McLinden (Plaistow, N.H.) accepted a forfeit at 133, sophomore Alex Starr (Lebanon, Conn.) and senior Lamont Wallace (New Rochelle, N.Y.) posted consecutive wins by fall at 141 and 149, respectively.

Freshman Ryan Monteiro (Wilbraham, Mass.) was victorious with a 23-6 technical fall over Ben Potts at 157, and sophomore Davey Goodall (Chelmsford, Mass.) earned a 6-3 decision against Moises Diaz at 165.

Sophomore Ryan Guers (Orwigsburg, Pa.) and senior Andrew Cole (Ogdensburg, N.Y.) both pinned their opponents at 174 and 197, while sophomores John Boyle (Rowley, Mass.) and Nick Fortini (Deer Park, N.Y.) won by forfeit at 184 and 285.
