Brooke Labrie Selected to Compete in NEWISA Senior Bowl

Contest scheduled for Saturday, December 2 at Merrimack College in Andover, Mass.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (November 25, 2017) –
Senior forward Brooke Labrie (Granby, Mass.) of the Western New England University women's soccer team has been selected to compete in the New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA) Senior Bowl, the organization announced last week.

The NEWISA Senior Bowl, which features the top women's soccer seniors at New England-based schools across all three NCAA divisions, will be held next Saturday, December 2 at Merrimack College in Andover, Mass. at 2 p.m.

An All-Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) first team selection this fall, Labrie started all 20 matches for the Golden Bears and ranked second on the team with eight points on two goals and four assists. All eight of her points came in Western New England victories, including a two-assist effort in the Golden Bears' 2-1 triumph over Roger Williams at Suprenant Field on October 17.

Labrie appeared in 59 matches, making 55 starts, over her three-year career at Western New England. She compiled 30 points with 11 goals (four game-winners) and 11 assists. The business major tied for the team lead in points (12) during her first season with the program in 2015 before earning All-CCC third team accolades last fall.

Labrie is the first Golden Bear to be invited to the NEWISA Senior Bowl since goalkeeper Brianna Kubik '16 in 2015.

Western New England enjoyed a resurgence this fall, as the Golden Bears posted a 10-8-2 record (7-2 CCC) and earned the right to host a CCC Tournament game for the first time since 2010.
