SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (December 14, 2017) – Senior forward Brooke Labrie (Granby, Mass.) and sophomore goalkeeper Alex Lemekha (Stamford, Conn.) of the Western New England University women's soccer team have both earned All-New England honors from the New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA), the organization announced on Thursday.

LaBrie, a second team selection, and Lemekha, a third team honoree, are among 37 Division III student-athletes to receive regional recognition from NEWISA. All selections are based on voting conducted by coaches in New England.

Labrie and Lemekha helped lead Western New England to one of its best seasons in recent memory this past fall, as the Golden Bears went 10-8-2 (7-2 CCC), earned the third seed in the CCC Tournament, and defeated the University of New England in a quarterfinal round matchup at Suprenant Field.

Labrie was named to the All-CCC first team after starting all 20 matches and ranking second on the team with eight points (two goals, four assists). Her second goal came in Western New England's CCC Tournament win over the Nor'easters. Labrie was also selected to compete in the NEWISA Senior Bowl, which was held at Merrimack College on Saturday, December 2.

Lemekha enjoyed a breakout sophomore campaign in 2017, earning All-CCC first team accolades after registering a CCC-leading eight shutouts with a 0.98 goals against average and a .810 save percentage.
