Golden Bears Take Down Hawks 42-16

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (December 10, 2021) – The Western New England wrestling team hosted Hunter College earlier this evening in a dual match where the Golden Bears came our victorious 42-16.

How It Happened:

The match started at the 125 lb. weight class where Justin Marino took the mat for the Golden Bears. Marino was defeated via pin in 2:52 for Hunter to take a 6-0 lead early. Nicholas Arborio walked out to the mat to win at 133 via forfeit before Colby Reilly went out to compete at 141. Reilly pinned his opponent in just 3:42 to put the Golden Bears ahead 12-6. Cam Hines also won via fall in 2:41 at the 149-weight class for six more points to go to Western New England. Luke Pinzino, Sean Monteiro and CJ Glaropoulos all won via forfeits at their respective weight classes.

Charles Maloy wrestled for the Golden Bears at 184 and fell via major decision for the Hawks to tally four more points on the night. Darby McLaughlin also won via forfeit at 197 before Jaden Field lost via fall. The Golden Bears won the match 42-16 to earn their third duals victory of the season.
