Wrestling Taken Down by Castleton University, 36-4

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (January 28, 2022) – The Western New England University wrestling team dropped a tough 36-4 match to the Spartans of Castleton University on Friday night from the Anthony S. Caprio Alumni Healthful Living Center. 

How it Happened:

Western New England was victorious in just one bought, as Nick Arborio would come away with a major decision victory over Kaya Bogle from Castleton University by a final score of 16-4. The Spartans would be dominate on all fashions of the mat, winning every other weight class out of the ten matches on the night. 
For the Golden Bears, Corey Cope (133 lb.), and James Dougherty (174 lb.) were defeated in a fall in the first round of their match. Colby Reilly (141 lb.), Cameron Hines (149 lb.), Darby McLaughlin (197 lb.), and Griffin Ostrom (285 lb.) were defeated through decisions on the night. Tristan Julian (157 lb.), Sean Monteiro (165 lb.), and Charles Maloy (184 lb.) were all taken down through major decision on the night. Castleton would take the 36-4 victory back to Castleton, Vermont on Friday night.
