Western New England Opens Season at Bill Detrick Invitational
Golden Bears in seventh place after round one
NEWINGTON, Conn. (September 8, 2018) – The Western New England University men's golf team opened its season on Saturday with the first round of the Bill Detrick Invitational, hosted by Trinity College at Indian Hill Country Club.
The Golden Bears are in seventh place in the ten-team field after round one with a team score of 316. Host Trinity is leading the way with a score of 289, while Babson (300) and Tufts (301) are in second and third, respectively.
Top Performers
Sophomore Ryan Zogby (New Hartford, N.Y.) paced Western New England with a one-over par score of 73, good for a tie for fourth place in the 63-gofler field.
Sophomores Cameron Cox (Bowdoinham, Maine), Tyler Sinacola (North Attleboro, Mass.) and Kade Howard (Ludlow, Mass.) all shot a nine-over 81 and are tied for 37th.
