Western New England Finishes 20th at Duke Nelson Invitational

Zogby shoots second round 75, finishes in tie for 32nd

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. (September 16, 2018) – The Western New England University men's golf team finished 20th at Middlebury College's Duke Nelson Invitational following second round action on Sunday at the Ralph Myhre Golf Course.

The Golden Bears followed up Saturday's team score of 320 with an identical effort on Sunday to finish with a total of 640, good for 20th in the 22-team field. Williams claimed the team title after posting a two-day score of 584. The Ephs were led by medalist Sam Goldenring, who topped the 110-player leaderboard with a combined score of 139. Trinity College (588) and New York University (590) rounded out the top three.

Sophomore Ryan Zogby (New Hartford, N.Y.) again paced the Golden Bears, shooting a three-over par 75 en route to a 32nd place finish with a two-day total of 151.

Sophomores Cameron Cox (Bowdoinham, Maine) and Tyler Sinacola (North Attleboro, Mass.) finished in ties for 65th and 87th, respectively. Cox posted a total of 157 with scores of 79 and 78, while Sinacola turned in a 79 and an 83 for a total of 162.

Senior Kevin Gollmer (Flourtown, Pa.) fired an 84 after recording an 86 on Saturday, with his two-day total of 170 placing in him a tie for 98th place at the conclusion of the event.

Sophomore Kade Howard (Ludlow, Mass.) carded an 86 during round two, three strokes better than Saturday's 89.

Western New England travels to Grafton, Mass. for the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Fall Qualifier on Wednesday at the Highlands Golf & Country Club. The Golden Bears will then compete at the Williams Fall Invitational next weekend at Taconic Golf Club.
