Zogby Leads Golden Bears at UMass Dartmouth Invitational

Golden Bears finish opening round in 7th place

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. (April 19, 2019) – The Western New England University men's golf team sits in seventh place following the opening round of the UMass Dartmouth Lafrance Hospitality Invitational on Friday at Allendale Country Club.

The Golden Bears turned in a team score of 323, good for seventh in the 15-team field. UMass Dartmouth (307) has a nine-stroke lead over second-place Nichols (316), while Endicott (318), Springfield (319) and Husson (321) round out the top five.

Sophomore Ryan Zogby (New Hartford, N.Y.) led the way for the Golden Bears with an opening round score of 76 (+4), which has him in a four-way tie for fourth place in the 75-golfer field.

Sophomore Kade Howard (Ludlow, Mass.), the reigning CCC Golfer of the Week, is tied for 20th after carding an 80, while classmate Cameron Cox (Bowdoinham, Maine) is tied for 27th with a score of 81.

Sophomore Tyler Sinacola (North Attleboro, Mass.) and senior Kevin Gollmer (Flourtown, Pa.) posted scores of 86 and 87, respectively, placing them 54th and 55th following round one action.
