Golden Bears Finish Eighth at Bill Detrick Invitational

Zogby ties for sixth in 63-player field with two-day score of 147

NEWINGTON, Conn. (September 9, 2018) – The Western New England University men's golf team finished in eighth place following second round action of the season-opening Bill Detrick Invitational on Sunday at Indian Hill Country Club.

The Golden Bears posted a team score of 629, good for eighth in the ten-team field. Host Trinity captured the team title (572) led by medalist Will Rosenfield, who topped the leaderboard with a two-day score of 140. Babson (596) and Amherst (608) rounded out the top three.

Top Performers
Sophomore Ryan Zogby (New Hartford, N.Y.), who led Western New England yesterday with a one-over par 73, posted a two-over 74 on Sunday and finished in a tie for sixth place in the 63-player field.

Freshman Andrew Crean (Victor, N.Y.) turned in a 77 during round two, ten strokes better than his round one performance.

Sophomores Cameron Cox (Bowdoinham, Maine) and Tyler Sinacola (North Attleboro, Mass.) both finished with scores of 162 after shooting an 81 on both days.
