Golden Bears Finish in Tie for 11th Place at Williams Fall Invitational

Crean, Zogby lead Western New England

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. (September 23, 2018) – The Western New England University men's golf team finished in a tie for 11th place following the second round of the Williams College Fall Invitational on Sunday at Taconic Golf Club.

The Golden Bears, who entered the day in 12th place in the 20-team field after posting an opening round score of 317, turned in a 321 during round two and finished with a combined total of 638.

The host Ephs claimed the team title with a score of 588, led by medalist Sam Goldenring, who topped the 104-player field with a two-under par 140 (69+71). Husson (605), Trinity (607), St. John Fisher (609), Babson (613) and Johnson & Wales (613) rounded out the top five.

Western New England was led during round two by freshman Andrew Crean (Victor, N.Y.), who earned medalist honors earlier this week at the CCC Fall Qualifier. Crean carded a six-over par 77, two strokes better than his round one score of 79. His two-day total of 156 placed him in a tie for 32nd place.

Sophomore Ryan Zogby (New Hartford, N.Y.) posted the lowest two-day total for the Golden Bears with a score of 154 that was good for a tie for 23rd place. He shot a team-best 75 on Saturday and turned in a 79 today.

Sophomores Cameron Cox (Bowdoinham, Maine) and Tyler Sinacola (North Attleboro, Mass.) finished in ties for 65th and 76th place, respectively, with scores of 163 (80+83) and 165 (83+82).

Senior Kevin Gollmer (Flourtown, Pa.) tied for 90th place after posting scores of 83 and 92 for a total of 175.
