Western New England in 12th Place After Opening Round of Williams Fall Invitational

Zogby leading Golden Bears with score of 78

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. (September 22, 2018) – The Western New England University men's golf team is in 12th place after the opening round of the Williams College Fall Invitational on Saturday at Taconic Golf Club.

The Golden Bears posted a team score of 320, good for 12th in the 20-team field. Host Williams College is leading the way with an opening round score of 298, while Babson (303), Tufts (304), Husson (306) and St. John Fisher (307) round out the top five. Sam Goldenring of Williams sits atop the 103-player leaderboard after carding a two-under par 69.

Sophomore Ryan Zogby (New Hartford, N.Y.) led the Golden Bears with a seven-over 78, good for a tie for 30th, while freshman Andrew Crean (Victor, N.Y.) is tied for 36th after shooting a 79.

Sophomore Cameron Cox (Bowdoinham, Maine) is tied for 47th with his opening round 80, and the duo of sophomore Tyler Sinacola (North Attleboro, Mass.) and senior Kevin Gollmer (Flourtown, Pa.) both turned in scores of 83 and are tied for 70th.
