Western New England Opens Spring Season at Rhode Island College Invitational

Golden Bears in fifth place after posting score of 318

WARWICK, R.I. (April 5, 2019) – The Western New England University men's golf team opened its spring season at the Rhode Island College Invitational on Friday at Valley Country Club.

The Golden Bears sit in fifth place in the 14-team field with a score of 318 following round one action.

Sophomore Ryan Zogby (New Hartford, N.Y.) led the way for the Golden Bears with a three-over par 75, just one stroke off the pace set by Mac Patch of Johnson & Wales. Zogby is tied for second place in the 73-golfer field with UMass Dartmouth's Jack McDonald.

Sophomore Kade Howard (Ludlow, Mass.) is tied for 13th place after carding an opening round 78, while classmate Cameron Cox's (Bowdoinham, Maine) score of 78 has him tied for 18th.

Also competing for the Golden Bears were freshman Andrew Crean (Victor, N.Y.) and sophomore Tyler Sinacola (North Attleboro, Mass.), who both shot an 86.
