Goals would come quickly for WNE , scoring three more in the quarter. Matt Greer would score just 56 seconds after the Newall tally on an assist from Brian Madden to give WNE a three-goal lead. Dylan Hanley would rear back and send another ball into the back of the net with 2:27 to play on a Noah Rust assist to give WNE a four-goal lead. Endicott would fight back in the second quarter, scoring four straight goals to stop a scoring streak for the Golden Bears and get the Gulls back into the contest. Endicott would get Western New England's lead to as low as three goals, though three goals in the final 1:56 of the second quarter would give WNE a six-goal lead at the half.
