SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (October 15, 2016) – The Western New England University men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Endicott College on senior day this afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at Suprenant Field.

Prior to the start of the match, Western New England honored its 11 seniors, Anthony Crisafulli (Voorheesville, N.Y.), Ryan Dickinson (South Hadley, Mass.), Alan Haberern (Durham, Conn.), Dimitri Kastrinakis (South Hadley, Mass.), Scott Trautwein (Pequannock, N.J.), Yeboa Amofa (Glastonbury, Conn.), Doug Castellano (Commack, N.Y.), Kory Caster (Wilbraham, Mass.), and captains Kevin Strobel (Rockland, Mass.), Neil Williams (Brewster, N.Y.) and Brandon Bolger (Saratoga, N.Y.) for their contributions to the men's soccer program over the past four years.

Top Performers
• Western New England juniors Troy Remillard (Palmer, Mass.) and Logan Pingree (Middletown, Conn.) accounted for six of the Golden Bears' ten shots with three apiece. The duo was also responsible for all three of the team's shots on goal.

• Endicott junior midfielder Robert Hartan (Hebron, Conn.) scored the goal that would stand as the game-winner midway through the first half.

Match Review
• After over 20 minutes of scoreless action, Hartan got the Gulls on the board at the 21:42 mark when he received a pass from sophomore defender Bobby Ivatts (Walpole, Mass.) and chipped a shot over Strobel and into the back of the net.
• Still facing a 1-0 deficit midway through the second half, Remillard nearly equalized for the Golden Bears in the 64th minute, but his attempt was thwarted by Endicott senior goalkeeper Nick Weinstein (Trumbull, Conn.).
• The Gulls then notched an insurance goal just over six minutes later, when junior midfielder Thomas Martin (Derry, N.H.) scored his first of the season.
• Western New England continued to attack in the late stages of the match, as Pingree got his head on a corner kick by Caster at the 83:50 mark, but Weinstein was again there to make the save. Just 25 seconds later, Dickinson fired a shot off the crossbar, and the Golden Bears then earned a corner kick with 5:02 remaining.

Notes
• Despite holding advantages in both shots (10-6) and corner kicks (8-2), Western New England was shut out for the first time since September 24.
